As I suspected, the file has no extension for whatever reason, which makes it very difficult to identify...

I added .zip to the end of the file name and WinRAR was able to open it, however it appears to be protected by a password. So unless your friend gave you a password with which to extract it, it's useless. There are ways to crack password-protected ZIP files but depending on the strength of the password it can take a very long time.

Theres definetly an LP in there, its passworded though which is a shame, I can view but cant access.

I am sure there are ways to crack protected rars?

well if anyone figures it out please let me know because I have a bunch of good albums that are protected and i'd love to share them.

Well if you can't find the password I'm afraid we're out of luck friend. Brute forcing protected .rars takes forever. I mean weeks atleast.

Just search 'Crack Passwords RAR' on google, there are alot of programms, but I don't know if they harm your computer..

it's a ZIP, not a RAR, please don't confuse him
