Agree with 'Mark' - my copy of JC Superstar Roots Disco Dub is not brilliant, lots of drops and constant surface noise.

This isn't a repress (at least I HOPE it isn't!!) but...

Three Dreads from Zion - wikkid tunes ruined by poor mastering and REALLY crap pressing. Sounds like it was mastered from an old cassette tape that had been through a knackered car stereo 40,000 times. I have to turn my amp up past halfway just to hear it (when with decent vinyl 1/4 volume will knock the house down!). Vinyl has more drops and bumps than even the worst JA pressings I've seen.

Anyone agree or is it just my copy - on GG Records, MAtrix GGR 9606. ??

Even the murder "Praise His Name", Barrington Levy is a different track to the original with the Power House repress...
What is good is to discover and enjoy the repress first, then the original...

Shalom Dub re-press on ATTACK is terrible, LOADS of surface noise - can be seen with the eye - on final track on BOTH sides. Entire LP noisy.

Can anyone tell me what the original KLIK pressing is like?

Tappa LP - Mighty Diamonds - Leaders Of Black Country - total frying bacon & eggs which is a shame cause it's a great LP.

Must admit, i have a bit of a problem with people questioning sound quality. Its my opinion that we should be thankful that these recordings are available for us to enjoy. This has not always been the case. I have just returned from Jamaica and i can assure you if you raise this point with anyone there, they dont understand it, they are just happy for the music. Some of the re-issues surfacing in recent times have not been easily available for 30 years or so. Take Marcus Garvey by Burning Spear (Palm) for instance on CD; you get all the traditionalists saying its awful its been remastered and so on, then you get all the Vinyl Junkies complaining about bad pressings. It's nothing new and makes no sense to me. Fact is you take the Rough with the Smooth, and you should see that these issues are positive and add more depth and warmth to our music. I understand your words but imagine if they all had the same feel my brothers... Try and see the glass as half full.

Much Respect
