im really into dark dread dub. i was actually going to put up a post with the same question. are you looking for something along the lines of "dubbing & wailing" by velvet shadows? this can be found on the trojan dub box set. That is one of my favorite dub tunes right now. Some stuff out of black ark is very dark and (eerie)..?

Thanks for the suggestions so far. One that looks really interesting is that Keith Hudson album...got to listen to a little bit of it and read a bit of a review and it looks very nice...

To answer mr mountain's question, i listened to a clip of "dubbing & wailing," and that sounds nice as well, very ghost like...

but just to keep continuity, or at least clarify myself, another example besides Scientist's "Dance of the Vampires" and "The Corpse Rises" would be a track I remember well from a compilation...

King Tubby's "Drumilly Rock." It's an unusual track, I wonder if anyone's familiar with it? But it also gets with what I'm looking for...

and I guess part of that, out of the three tracks I brought up, is the driving, constant rhythm, on the lower end of things...

I like Drumilly Rock very much, not sure where it originates from, if anyone knows that would help too!

Drumilly Rock, if you're talking about the track from the Tubby/Fatman compilations, is a dub of Don Carlos' "Late Night Blues."

But good luck finding it! I could only find the MP3s ripped from a scratched-up vinyl and that was hard enough to find.

I know that there are many tunes based on the 'late night blues riddim' Especially Jammy used it a lot.

If u like the scientist album then check his others, my fav is "Meets the Space invaders" very similar style to that one u like, also meets pacman, plus the Vs Jammys album, but scientist is basically the originator of the style u like, althought king tubby invented dub, scientist really made it psychadelic and trippy, made especially for those smoke filled rooms!

For heavy dark dub, definatley the Prince Fari cry tuff dub encounter series, all nice. Try Joe Gibbs African Dub set, plus Yabby U - Jesus Dread album, very nice album not strictly dub but very heavy, and obviously The Congos, heart of the congos this has the be the best reggae album of all time so don't miss this one.
Also any Lee Perry Black ark material from late 70's...
