Hmm...thats very weird...So jason allen, you have a beef with matthew because he recommended some nice albums?! alright, i can see tthat it is not nice with the family and that, but you cant blame ,matthew for that! I dont think he recommended some nice roots albums because he wanted to destroy you family!

@Matthew- glad you're back and you appreciated the joke. I really have been getting deeper and deeper into more early dancehall after picking up on those releases. Interestingly, I completely burnt my wife out on Roots but she is mildly less annoyed at the dancehall sound (emphasis on the mildly).

@Rootsman- I love all the artists you mentioned and totally agree. Never heard Singie Singie, though, I'll have to check him. Lately I've been listening to the White Mice CD a lot.

@Gee- Here goes more money....I listened to the Dancehall Showcase 2 and will now have to purchase. Oddly enough, you mentioned Slice of the Cake as your favorite and that is the one that I traded with Matthew for and started all my financial problems.

@ Jah Glu- I don't know what Matthew's intentions were. I just know that his actions have started a chain reaction at my house. Marital strife. Shabby dressed kids. Tired Postal workers. Disgruntled neighbors with the police dispatch number programmed into their speed dials. These problems didn't just appear out of nowhere. Someone is to blame. Surely you aren't implying that this is somehow my fault?

I've been through it myself though.
Seems no one can truly overstand this thing called reggae and really collecting in general.

No no, there are women out there who do understand. But it is a two way thing. Laura, my partner for many years now, is very patient with my collecting and playing reggae. And in return I don't diss her for collecting shoes and wearing them.

Traded Slice of the Cake!! Woah, that is such a great LP, one of my favourites by Sugar. The track 'Inna Dance Hall Style' is massive!

I am also making a shift from roots to early Dancehall. I still love to play 1970's reggae but more and more 1980 - 1985 stuff is finding it's way into my boxes.

And when I play sets in the dance, I generally stick to the early Dancehall 12 inchers as they seem to be the ones that get the crowd going.

I presume you've been listening to some Barrington Levy and Triston Palmer? And almost anything on the Midnight Rock label should rock you!
