Lacksley Castell and Don Carlos are so close because Don Carlos is the producer of Castell's LP's. NEGUS ROOTS is Don Carlos' label. Lots of killers, check out your record shop as it seems they are repressing...

negus roots is no don carlos label, it fe di Palmer brothers label. mi collection has been through the early 80's an all is ariginal print. don carlos nah produce any a de 2 LP's an mi holding dem right nuh. an indeed it is the palmer brothers who do own negus roots yuh will si dem name dem pon any negus roots 12" disco or LP pon dat label an it is dem who is producer, yuh si whey mi a seh? don carlos own's the Dove label.

Yep, pupa pisces is correct it's not Don Carlos label. It is in fact Robert "Flako" Palmer's label. I think they only put out a handfull of releases. I just read somewhere that someone, possibly a jamaican musician, bought the whole catalog and is going to re-issue it. In fact Castell's "Princess Lady" album is set to be the first which should have come out last month. I haven't seen it around but I'm sure going to look. My copy is in bad shape. Killer tunes!!

it was trevor elliot, the owner fe musical ambassador who bought the whole negus roots catalog. him having ernie b distribute primarily fe him.
