the value of a record is not what the seller wants to earn but what the buyers are able and want to pay.
you don't know the whole history Antonin...
and...in the end it's all about demand and supply

Hey folks,
I think there are some sought after records out there. And Bad Man Possee is one of them. It´s a collector´s item and shouldn´t sell for rice & peas.
Seems to be a new trend that buyers demand rare vinyl and are not willing to pay a fair price.
Ebay market is mixed up - I see a lot of gems selling for nothing. Maybe the int´l market struggles due to the weak dollar.

Yes it's all about demand and supply and I will tell you why buyers have to decide of the prices of records and not sellers (or the sellers have to ask reasonable prices) :
in the industry, a good has to be made and needs people and material, which has a cost, hence the seller sets a price which take into account all this.
On second hand records market, exception made for professional sellers, you don't have to buy records in the aim of selling them, you buy records to listen to them and then when you need money or are bored with it, you sell it. So there is no cost price for the record you sell. If you want a higher price than the market, this is speculation.
Actually, for a given record, some people sell it at a high price and other at a low price. I'll tell you that selling records is a real job and is time consuming, look at how "upatoutonthefloor" sells records on ebay, he's not advertising like "hey guys I have this LP in perfect condition do you want this, I'm selling it for a lot of dunza", he makes effort to provide the most precise information on the record and has a very long time reputation with his shop in London. I'm sorry ras andejo but this is too easy ! you can't have money without working a minimum. If you provide quality pictures, quality audio extract and describe it as precisely as possible, I wouldn't react like this. Selling records at high price is not just hitting popsike. Moreover if you sell outside ebay, coz' there is no money guarantee and you don't have a good or bad reputation, we don't know anything about you !

if you don't trust a buyer then you shouldn't buy from him! i know my records are in great shape, i sell them at market prices and compared to the professional shops, i don't need to earn money from it nor do i want to make a profit out of it! i sell on ebay as well and i have a 100% positive score; that's nice but not enough since i do everything to keep it that way!! my descriptions are 100% complete and i also add nice soundclips so buyers can hear the riddims...
i know selling records is time consuming...i spend hours in doing so: right pictures, right description, sound clips etc.etc.
To all people who ware wailing about the high prices of used records: if you can't afford them, you simply can't buy them. Accept this, get over it and stop wasting time....Other's are more fortunate to buy these kind of records (this includes a lot of real collectors who can value rare records).

Lol, I'm fortunate enough to buy a $100, the problem is not what I can do but what I want (and don't want) to do with my money. And one thing is sure, I don't want to feed a speculator

. And I'm patient enough to wait a cheaper copy if I see a record I'm looking for.
And I think you're a bit insulting for people who don't have a lot of money in here.

yeah truth hurts, im a poor man too but i could have easily purchased that lp from brethren andejo, but the album was even exceeding the recorded prices on POPSIKE. The thing is and it has been mentioned here before, just be patient and wait for a copy to be on bid for a cheaper price. I have noticed great gems pop out at a certain time and sells for cheap and the next week the same thing happens except that it sells for a great amount. Kinda reminds me of ernieb who sells copy sky high but if you want it it's there.

Just explaining my point of view, if you don't recognize yourself as a speculator, you shouldn't be bothered.
