Leggo Rocker - you raise an important point but I do not believe that if everyone stopped eating meat then people would no longer die from poverty.

The economics and politics of the world are hopelessly stacked against the poor and the poorer countries.

The economic exploitation that results is surely at the root of world poverty and no amount of vegetarianism will change that (fwiw I am a vegan myself btw).

With respect

No, you are probably right Baldy. That 'they' will always find a mechanism to keep the oppressed down. But we need to try to make sure we are not being used as parts of the machine that oppresses.

I watched a program last week with a geezer who could find water in any desert if you knew where to dig.He is a European and can through knowledge and some photos taken from space can find massive lakes under deserts.
Theres a man who invented the clean water filter, it looks like a vacuum flask that takes any dirty water and once its put through the filter turn into clean drinking water. The world is going to need that as the fresh water runs out.

Yep. Clean water, everyone needs that!

Instead they are getting one end or another of an AK47.

Arms spending. Now there's some cash that would go a long way in the right direction.

It's a twisted world. It's one you'll find difficult to straighten out. So you might as well make sure you stay fixed and don't get dragged into all this Babylon madness.
