Vibes and bootleggers are always got the moblie phone filming and recording it. look i got a moblie phone in de dance look at me im going to put it on my website and youtube.
Rather than years ago when you was at a dance for the moment not showing off with flashes every 2 minutes from the blasted moblie phone filming.
Leave all your knives and guns and moblie phones with the gate man and get back to real cultural dances than a whole heap of digital bob heads and thier mp3s and ipods.
A music lover aint going to spend money on fancy technology their going to buy the record.
They have also forgoten how to dance at a dance.
So if i went to a dance these days and was there for the dancing i have to put up with these bods filming me not shaka what double standards.
If you dont stop filming me oh dear i have just chucked your mobile phone across the dance floor now go and find it like a ciggy butt on the floor. What jokers.peace in the dance.Hail and pull up selector.
your all waiting for things to happen in de dance wgere as i make things happen in de dance.
peace

Surely you could take a tape recorder to a shaka dance and link up with a decent mic, or better yet just plug into the line outs on the preamp and record it into analogue.
How can you claim to ask people to leave their weapons at the door when throwing someones phone accross the floor would cause a similar argument, you dont need a knife or gun to fight or to kill.
I 'real' bootleggers who are trying to steal a song would bt a lot more careful then flashing a mobile phone or any other device around.
The youtube kiddies are just people interested in the music, enjoying the experience, i dont think they cause harm.

Your telling me that freedom and choice is as bad as carrying knives and guns cos they better leave the knives and guns at the gate man cos you want war at a shaka dance get real me looking at you can piss you off.you step in the arena them jokers with knives and guns at shaka the crowd are going to put the gun man down now you want bto film that you better asked shakas promotors weather you can use you film footage on youtube.
It has always been ruff and tuff at roots dances and hold your ground now the cry babys and informant want to make a fuss and stop the dance.theres your booglegger the one who say help help hes worked me out on the dance floor.
they are so lazy these days inna dance.
One sound man dont like your tune and goes and rips off the dubplate on de turntable and throws the tune across the dance. as this fake peacefull rubbish that comes across is fake cos any little thing your there defending the warmongers in peace.
to much polotics in the dance these days.

stepping razor wrote:I have very clear recordings of Jah Shaka dances as people have said the best shaka recordings i have done at the dances.
Its about sound from source and that shaka knows i aint going to then bootleg them or and sell them and the like.
A lot of the tune dem special dubplate that has been layered over the years and would pull the dubplate out if the people involved aare at the dance.
If shaka don want anyone in the dance to record it and will just get a load of noise that no amount of editing software can handle.
Its up to the selector how they present their music and what quality on play back they decide, depends what type of people are at the dance bootleggers or music lovers.
peace
you just need to get access to the soundboard recordings... I've got several of them (no shaka dances btw ) On some of the recordings I have you can hear the artists breathe....

Im saying that causing a fight over a mobile phone video makes you no better then a would be gun man (and just because you have the choice to grab someones mobile and throw it, doesnt make it right) Suddenly we all start caring if someone has a lousey recording on their phone of a tune? the best they can do with it is stick it on youtube and spread the message of these dances; i dont think you will see many DJS setting up their laptop and sticking youtube on.
or maybe they will digitally steal the tune, in which case you have already argued that this would mean a massive lack of quality in any dubplate pressed from the recording, if they go the analogue route their gonna need to get right in there to steal it; i reckon more dubplates are 'stolen' by promoters/soundsystem crew then anyone whos come to a dance.
Please dont insinuate that i believe something when i havent stated i do, i dont believe its all peace and love, but what harm would come about from having an attitude more suited to it.
Id rather spread peace and love then violence and fear, everytime negetive vibe is spread on the floor it is the reason they want our dances stopped because it dont spread nothing good.
Try not to be so aggressive to other peoples oppinions, i feel like you believe your word is better then everyone elses, we all know quite a bit about dances/reggae.
