Not sure whether those extra tracks have had a detrimental effect or not.
I'd be very curious to hear those bonus tracks. this record is definitely a must have!

the sugar minott uptempo showcase is a great album but the repress sux... it's a pity cos the tracks are damn good.

been buying a fair few studio 1 re-presses, i have only been collecting wax for 5 years and can't really afford originals on my student budget, i am happy with them, some of them are abit ropey, quite load background noise, but can't complain for £3 a pop for a 45.

ATTENTION! I cant believe you guys telling that all the Studio One reissues sound good! There's a few ones that are allright, but loads of this reissues are of horrible sound and pressing quality, usualy they use the same stampers as ages ago.....so my advice is: just buy them if you can listen to them before.

Pretty sure nobody on this thread has said that. In fact, the complete opposite. If you read the posts again you will see that I am playing any reissues I have (and I don't claim to have all of them) and letting Dizzle (who started the thread) know whether they are good quality or not.

Last night I played excerpts from "Hi Fashion Dub Top Fourteen" and that also sounds excellent. I also played the last track on each side as I felt these were the one's likely to be the poorest quality. These tracks also sounded excellent.

**["Im Flash Forward"](http://www.roots-archives.com/release/1959)** by Cedric Brooks also gets the thumbs up from me.

right david2!
maybe because we mainly talked about records released or recorded around 1980...
if you check the 60's or early 70's records, the sound and press quality is often a mess...

If you want a top notch perfect quality studio one chunes, just get all of the soul jazz studio one releases, they may be high priced, but are as clean as can be & usually cover all of the essential chunes there is:

There is - Classics, Story, Rockers, schorcher, roots, discomix, ska etc...

Soul Jazz is a quality label... there's something alluring about the packaging of Studio One records tho. You have to kind of take the rough with the smooth when it comes to Jamaican music sometimes... even an original press isnt a guarantee of quality. 6anbatte: Im Flash Forward is high on my want list. Cheers!
