It's not totally unlistenable, but amongst the indy/hotel band Lp's I've heard there are many more worth sourcing out of this.

It won't upset you picking it up for cheap your first time, but after that...

I have a copy of the lp Happiness. It is also autographed by the band members on the cover. I could send photo's if you want.

information on LLoyd Willacy formerly of happiness unlimited is still a very active singer/songwriter/ guitar player. he has a new CD out that can be downloaded on myspace.com/cookie guitars.It's getting a lot of rave reviews. I've listened to the CD and it's great music, he's very talented. The album with happiness unlimited is great music also. He is truly talented. he also has a blog on his myspace page.

[I was very involved with this band, as their manager was also manager for my sisters who sang on the north coast circuit. The band then included bobby, garth bright, "Fish" Salmon, Glen Washington and guitarists called Maurice and Teddy. They made a song used by The Jamaica Tourist Board called "we've got to make it anyway". They were the hottest thing around.
Mr "Governor" Richards, at the time manager of both Shelly Deane, Hot Peppers Band and Happiness Unlimited was approached by Stevie, who was impressed by all his artistes. They signed with Stevie and came to the US. Garth Bright also during this time wrote a song which stevie did not deem good enough for this group and the album he was working on with them,so he sold it to Musical Youths who cleaned up with this song. It is funny that the songs stevie worked on with the group came to nothing. SO some went back home and some stayed in the US after disagreements and grievances with stevie.

I have a song called "Far beyond the blue" by a L. Willacy which Roots Knotty Roots credits as being by Leroy Wallace! Is this the same guy, anybody know?

Nice post, postman. Assume that it's Leroy Willacy, don't really sound like Leroy Wallace. I think RKR assume that because of a similarity of title and the name of artist between "Far Beyond The Blue" and Mr Wallace's "Far Beyond", that it must be the same guy. Easy assumption to make but perhaps not right. But I tell you, if Leroy Willacy ever make a record better than Far Beyond The Blue, I would be amaze, because that is one BRILLIANT tune.

Coupla things about Far Beyond on Studio 1 that probably everyone already know (to misquote Mr Wayne Wade) but I will say it anyway: I think the Leroy Wallace is actually a poem by Mutabaruka, written before Muta was a recording artist, but I am not sure. The rhythm is "Do Your Thing", the much-versioned Isaac Hayes tune.

Brilliant tune tho, as is the aforementioned Willacy effort.

I loved this group when they played in the hotels.....where can I get the songs to buy?
