Why care about the value if :
- you have enough money to raise your family ?
- you don't plan to sell it ?
- you plan to sell the open copy and keep the mint one in order to play it ?

i wonder from where you still got sealed copies from ?
I mean those lps are older then 25 years, where did they sleep all the time ?

plenty of records that did not sell back then, went into storage, and freed years later!!

Pretty simple quiestion....It depends. Do you want to sell them? If yes you should definitely not open them, you should leave them sealed and put them on Ebay ASAP. But If you dont want to sell them, what are you waiting for? It want do you much good, just lying there...

Yes, there are lots of new unsold records out there. Unfortunately, I have to make do with buying them at inflated prices from those lucky enough to get them in job lots for little cash.
The ones I have even have price stickers on the shrink. $12.99 reduced to $8.99 being the average price.
That seems quite a lot of money for those days, especially as you can legally download an LP for less than $10 nowadays.
And don't worry (or maybe it does worry you?) these records will all be free and enjoying their first taste of life on the deck by the end of the week!

At the company were I once worked they had a simple ( and not really expensive ) device that could seal small boxes, and also record sleeves.....

i would sell the sealed to someone who rate such things and buy myself a used one or something like that.

The shrink is the real deal. First off it has original shop price stickers on it. These could be fake, but they have a 30 year old look to them!
Secondly, the records and sleeves are REALLY mint. Like brand new mint.
The question I posed was somewhat rhetorical as, personally, I always intended to open them!
