Rodigan's marley dubplate is a some edited version made from original tapes and from a interview rodi made with bob. There was recently a interview in french where rodigan was mentioned to said that himself.

It was Candyman (aka Barry Ried) that cut those dubplates.

Anyway ... this is from an interview with Jah Wise that I've read;
»Q: Was you a very good friend of Bob Marley?*

A: "Yeah man, he did dub plates for Tippatone. Just two."

Q: Tell me about them.

A: "They are Scratched up, me are going to fix them up when me get me computer."

Q: What was the content of the dub plates.

A: "Tired to see Tippatone face”, and “Old Pirates come to Rob I. I remember when he was living in Scratch's back yard - living. In those days you parents do like you to be a Rastaman.«

hey this discussion ive seen over 100 times already so mi kinda pck up the most important tings:

no sound which is still active has real bob dubs. they all fake sung by his sons, wether rodigun, stone love, jaro.

there were 2 sounds with real dubs which pop down long time, cant remeber the names but they were like third world and blackstar, not saying it was those two but it was in same era. mybe corner stone..dam i used to know the exact names.

Im absolutely certain Jaro dont have that "Crazy Naldhead" Dubplate. They have a dubplate yes, that is a studio outtake called "Babylon Feel This One" and they played it, so that the text you found pupa. But it wasnt recorded especially for Jaro, just given through circumstances I dont remember.

Rodigan got a special, but nothing offered by Marley. Hes has put an acapella vocal on the favourite riddim of the Soundman he was clash-ing with. He asked the authorisation of Island before. You should find easly an interview of him explaining that on the web, as its a usual question... But its no way a special recorded for him.

Most of the so said "dubplates" circulating are outtakes or alternate mixes made by Dennis Thompson. 99% of the fake Marley dubplates circulating on ebay are from thoses tapes that you can find on bootlegs.

Of what I remember, there are many early 70s specials (especially of the Lee Perry period, I got a recording of 2 of Soul Rebels), and you can find 2 or 3 on the Complete Wailers series. But most of them are nowadays unplayable. Aquarius record shop is sais to own a huge stock of them.

Finally there are 2 ou 3 cuts that really seem to have been recorded for that purpose... You can find them on bootlegs if you seek hard. One is a totally alternate and tuffest version of Rat Race, the other one being a cut of Ambush (almightiest cut Ive heard of Marley so far!!) but their owners are unknown.

In early 80s in UK, some tapes were brought from Tuff Gong and sold to DJs as specials. From that, you can find for example the dub version of War, but again, these are no specials or dubplates but alternate mixes outtakes.

Reggae music is so convoluted in general that taking a regard to that dubplate thing could get people even more confused.

Anyway, very interseting!

I have a 29 minute long recording of a Killamanjaro session (unknown year) where two Bob Marley specials supposedly are played along with some Bunny Wailer dubs.

A dub to Bad Card, a dub to Get Up Stand Up, and a dub to Redemption Song!
