Yesss!
Well, I agree with you jahganga, I discovered dis album lately and was happy to discover some xylophon pon it.
Never heard the Ital Observer...
*Satta*, I had a 30sec listen to that 1st track, couldnt hear any clarinet... probably later on the track? Ill upload here a clip on which I guess its clarinet, not sure though...
talking bout a "fife" is that a long flute? In that style, Tommy McCook has done some interesting stuff... On Pablo Moses' Revolutionnary Dream for example...
About Harmonica, Im usually not fond of it... I guess it remind me too much the US folk music... Still I like a few like Boston Jack - Great God Over Zion
Any tune with an accordion?

"...essentially a wooden tube with 7 holes drilled in it and a cork (just beyond the blow hole) used to adjust the tuning."
**["Fife"](

I get the feeling the fifes being played in reggae are more like the cane fifes the blues musicians make and play. Check out **[Othar Turner](

Mind you, that is me just speculating!

What sound does blowing on a comb make ?
Is it a bit like Hair Guitar
Perhaps I need to brush up on my instruments

Rootsman,
it sounds like a stuffed trumpet. You put a paper round the comb to make it sound.
Ever blown a straw?

Oh Bellyman, I was really hoping the answer was "NO".
How can I take you serious anymore knowing you blow on straws (In the bath I assume)
Oh well, I guess these things go on. But then what you do in your own home is your business.
I have obviously led a sheltered life
Sorry Litelet for taking this off topic.
Back to music.
I am sure some of the Skengdon tracks use random instruments. One that instantly comes to mind is the dub to Cutty Ranking "Greedy Girl" which I am sure, from memory, uses some kind of woodwind instrument.
