(A) 'A Big Car' [Pt. 1] - Jackie Mittoo

(B) 'A Big Car' [Pt. 2] - Jackie Mittoo

Studio One 7" issue - in a New Establishment style groove - heavier bass than the dubbier LP version on 'Now'.

Rocking Horse - Be Thankful 7inch with a Dub on the flip

Bunny Scott had a 7inch on the Upsetter label as Bunny Rugs 'Be Thank Full' with flip 'Big May'. The Discomix version was on the 1975 Klik LP - 'Bunny Scott - To Love Somebody' Clocktower issued another 7inch as Bunny Clarke 'Be Thankful' with The Upsetters on the flip 'Dubbing In The Back Seat' Clocktower CT509.
The Upsetter Dub can also be found on 'Flashing Echo - Trojan In Dub 1970-1980'

There's no such thing as a discomix of Bunny Scott's "Be Thankful".
Further more: the 7 inch release was on Clocktower and Orchid, not on Upsetter label.

I'm having a terrible monday myself yes.
Besides that I can still tell you that there's no discomix on the Klik release. Neither on the Tabou1 release. That's probably a typo on the sleevenotes.

@ BassGroove and Ron ,

I dragged out my CD copy of the Tabou1 release , and apart from it being mis-labelled as track 12 instead of track 11 , the track runs at 6 mins.and 37secs . Would that be classed as a disco-mix as there is a dubbed up section toward the end ? And who did do this mix ? It does state that ... " Several extremely rare cuts also produced by the Upsetter have been added to the original tracklisting of this collectors item "

I might be answering my own question here , but in " People Funny Boy " by David Katz there is a part that states Sonia Pottinger cut the track " What`s The Use " at the Ark... " which Perry included on the album ... (" To Love Somebody ")...after she decided not to use it . "

Could this Tabou1 track of the " Be Thankful " release be anything to do with this ? Was it cut at the same Pottinger session ?

It does sound as if both tracks were recorded around the same time, yes.

Btw, I just had another listen to "Be Thankful" and although it is a long version (longer than I had in mind), it's more like an extended (custom) mix.
They've cut the vocal version around 3"20 and pasted 'Dubbing In The Back Seat', the dub version straight after.

???? If this could be the case maybe the whole album is produced by Sonia Pottinger and maybe she traded the material for Lee Perry produced "Pre-Meditation" album material.
Well maybe not...

Theres more of these (semi-bogus) extended custom mixes in the compilation called "Shocks Of Mighty". For instance there never was disco mixes around the time when "Shocks Of Mighty" was released. I'm pretty sure that this so called "disco mix" of Be Thankful is from the same compilation.
