If anyone here loves REAL ROOTS, augustus pablo and king tubby, heavy dubs.. etc, etc... you've got to check this guys...

www.profetasdezion.com.br

The band's name is Profetas De Zion ("Zion Prophets)...
A band from the very south of Brazil, Porto Alegre, inspired by the melodica of Augustus Pablo, they've the HEAVIEST brazilian sound, their first independent album released last year is in a "Showcase" style, with 7 vocal tracks (1 in english), which all of them are followed by their HEAVY dub version...

Go to "MUSICAS" on the top link, then "TRECHOS DE MUSICAS" to hear a few sound samples.

It's not because they are my friends, but to me is the best KILLER ROOTS brazilian reggae band (and one of the few one's...)

If anyone is interested in their cd, i can put any of you in touch with the band's vocalist... they sell their cd's in a TOTALLY independent way...

That's why they are still not well recognized... but soom things due to change... and their already working on their second CD...

Check them out... i'm sure you won't regret...

p.s.: besides that, only "ponto de equilibrio" and early "cidade negra" (first 2 albums with "Ras Bernardo") catches my attention...
but not that much...

Blessings,
