Yeah, I can, its called Freedom of Speech

Its also my personal opinion with which anyone is entitled to disagree.

I dug them out last night and had a listen to all of them and my opinion is still the same.

Dont know why, but "Drift Away.." and "Revolutionary Sounds" just seems more Jamaican in sound where as "Hell A Go Pop" has a different influence to it.

I have Drift Away From Evil and Hell A Go Pop. I must admit that I rather listen to the latter rather than the former. I downloaded mp3's of the Revolutionary Sounds and that one I didn't even bother listening all the way through. Perhaps I haven't given them enough time.

Very different sound : Radics or late 70s Sly & Robbie.
I wouldn't say is more "jamaican"....there are as jamaican as the other but I agree with you.

"Revolutionary Sounds in Dub" is hard to find b/c a large portion of the pressing was never sold (the reason why most rare reggae records are rare).

a large quantity of this LP was found by a NYC record store who now offer them periodically, but they always sell for a high price.

IMO the the best Cultural Roots LP is "drift away from evil", then "Revolutionary Sounds", then "Hell A Go Pop", but they're all great.

yeah; I've noticed that. They always have mint condition copies of that album for sale. Hopefully they have so many that anyone that wants one will get one eventually

IMO the first 4 Cultural Roots issues are all killers;

- Revolutionary Sounds
- Revolutionary Sounds in Dub
- Drift Away From Evil
- Hell A Go Pop

Don't forget the album 'Pretty Woman' which also has some nice tracks....

Did you notice that the dubs on the Revolutionary Sounds in Dub (Cultural Roots Dub)LP do not match some of the tracks on the Revolutionary Sounds LP , eg tracks such Danger Light,Too Late Shall Be Your Cry .I've only heard the dubs to those on a 12 inch

cultural roots really have that unique "sound" Jamaica is/was so good at. A real signature vocal style. All 4 albums are killers with "drift away" their best, as stated by Ernerst Hoo Kim " I wish I had produced Drift Away from Cultural Roots, a gem sound dat is"

Mama One Song is one of my personal favourites. Great Black Uhuru-inspired track.
