On some tracks his voice comes very close to being Gregory Isaacs 'elder brother'. Jackie Edwards could build that laid-back and hurting vocal-style just the same.
I bet that album-title was made for promotion by the producer, not intended by the singer himself.

Love him. I had the good fortune of being able to interview him when he came to town with Roy Shirley in 1983, and he was an absolute class act, both as a performer, and a gentleman.

I put him in the same category of artists such as Bob Andy and Joe Higgs - masters of songcraft....they can write songs that don't depend on a particular "performance", they are songs that can be covered in any genre of music by just about any type of singer.

Definitely an unsung giant whose passing was a huge loss.
