No doubt about it; Curtis was an absolute gem.
I can hear that Cornell Campbell was heavily influenced by him.
I dig The Uniques' (with Cornell) version of Queen Majesty (Minstrel & Queen).
Slim Smith and The Techniques' version, too.

I see that we're all on the same wave length! By the way, one of his strongest album - if not the strongest - and yet not-as-well-known-as-it-should-be is "There Is No Place Like America Today". Pure beauty. Get it!!!!

i wouldn't say cornel was heavily influenced by slim, i believe they both influenced each other to a certain degree, but not heavily... two very good singers in their own right, both definitely influenced by the great curtis mayfield, no doubt

I didn't say that Cornell was heavily influenced by Slim.
I said that I can hear that Cornell was heavily influenced by Curtis Mayfield.
