Thnaks Hans, Ive heard these 2 samples before. One is a mic held up to a tape player and the other is a single off the album but not sure if it sounds the same as the LP. It would be cool to hear smaple from someone who has the album..??

Btw, this one is out of the RA time range, being not from 1984, but 1987!
Which makes me think about...er should it be then "The 14 year old DJ Wonder" being born in 1973???

He sounds younger on this one from 1982

i got an mp3 version of this album
and was not impressed. 1983?
it sounded like 1986 or 1987 to me.
the tunes i heard were all digital
and every song started with him saying
"special dedication to..."

The 2 tracks I heard were pretty digi but I was hoping for the rest to be like early 80's radics sound......maybe like an 83 sound

Thanks for the review, I still want to hear now after all this talk. Much appreciation for all ROOTS knowledge!

this record is from '86 or '87.
it rarely approaches $100 on ebay, and it's up there often enough. a copy ended yesterday for under $50 i think.

now go back and imagine that actually king jammys build this album. compare that to anything else from 86/87 and you will see that the studio equipment got an update around 85 so how those tiny riddims would be from 86/87?
album never worth the 100 $. maybe a 50 but thats it.

Thanks to Mr. Bellyman I sampled this entire album. The info for the album says 83-84 and says that he is the "10 year old DJ wonder but sounds like he's over 18 and like the tracks were arranged in like 86-87. It was a little too digi for my taste but feel that the album is a great LP to have in the collection and will tresure it!Thanks agian Bellyman and everyone else who posted!

beenieman is born august 22, 1973
i rebember seeing this album in the stores in 1988, so beenie would be 15 tops, and when listening to the riddims/productions it sounds more like 1985-86.. so him being 13-14 years old when he recorded this album is probably about right. (also he does sound like a young boy on this album)
