There's also another version by Linval Thompson on Thompson Sounds 7" and also on one of his LP's, don't remember wich one.
I also have the Johnny Osbourne version, but can't confirm because I haven't heard the other ones you mention.

of course there's a difference, eskender's voice and approach vocally is quite different, more energetic, than tyrone evans. i like both. eskender's was a recut from the late 1970s, don's original was cut in the late sixties or very early 70s

They are the same lyrics, but are 2 totally different singers. Don't know where you are listening to these? I have both 7's around here somewhere...

ok,
paragons & eskender dont sound same at all, thats for sure.
looking right now for a sample of don evans..
here it is:

thats don evans & paragons
sounds exactly same as my Paragons tune.
conclusion:
eskender singing much higher + he is already singin vocals on the intro. don evans don't.
ok, nothing new still.
"a quiet place/man next door" was recorded 3 times at studio one or treasure isle by different artists. all sound somehow same and the version is the same one each time.
then we have another classic like this called "rains from the sky" created by ellis (i think) and re-recorded by dennis later on. maybe there are more versions of dat which i didnt listen yet

Thanks Fareast77!! I now hear the difference. Its very obvious and they are different and I prefer the JUDAH ESKENDER TAFARI version.
Which one do you prefer??
