Linval Thompson - Rock Me In Dub

Exactly the mix you want listening to rockers inna militant style..
Speaking of dub: the intro of "oppsition Dub" from the "Jah Thomas Meets Roots Radics Dubbing" (a "Joker Smoker" Version) is sooo wicked!
But then that's one of the hardest dancehall riddims ever imho..

Also great is General Echo's "Foxy Mama":

"Hey Echo man your mama is calling you"
"Ohh Nooooo"
"Not that mama man.."

My favourite is also Hot Shot, by Big Youth and featuring Gregory Isaacs and Leroy Libbles. I also have a soft spot in my heart for Rockers Dub by Augustus Pablo. The mention of Picture On The Wall, by The Naturalites reminds me of a version recorded for one of the Mikey Dread T.V. series from the early '80s, possibly Rockers Roadshow. It is from a live show (in Bristol, or Nottingham?)and Mikey Dread saunters on stage and toasts over the rhythm, sending everyone there wild - great to watch.

Mikey Dread - Roots & Culture

Rod Taylor - His Imperial Majesty

Inna different kind:

Jack Ruby & The Black Disciples - Free Rhodesia

There are lots of songs that when you hear the fancy intro u know that when riddim drops it will be a scorcher, right ? it happens a lot to me...

great thread !

Great one!! I remebered that one yesterday!

Its kinda off-topic, but Curtis Mayfield - [Don`t Worry] If There Is Hell Below (from 71's Curtis LP) has a really fresh and killer intro...

Yes, this is a great thread!

How 'bout this one?:

The opening to I-Roy's "Buck & The Preacher"?

Classic... love that one.

Or, how about the opening to I-Roy's "Blackman Time"?

Jus heard the one mentioned about "Leroy Brown & General Charghand" on YouTube... seen: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vicimG_cJOA

Nice one.

Peace everyone!
