If I had MY own label...
I would be struggling to make ends meet! Reissueing and licensing classic recordings ( not available ) from the original producers and copyright owners is hardly profitable.
...."burn it down and collect the insurance money"... uhmm, that's an idea!

I would issue more Keith Hudson compilations (there's at least 2 or 3 double CD's worth of productions etc).
More Yabby You.
Proper reissues of Dennis Brown's albums for Niney (with dubs)
Loads of Studio 1 albums that either haven't been done or been done shoddily by Studio 1 themseleves....
But I can dream.....

Indeed! What a pleasure it would be to see Studio 1 albums re-released with good soundquality, by Soul Jazz or Pressure Sounds for example.. Heartbeat did such a good job with "Bobby Bobbylon" - re-released as double vinyl with plenty bonus material (a shame they released cd only in the last time).

...first I would relaunch the Hungrytown label and release everything that came from there in excellent vinyl. Maybe a box-set, collecting all albums, 12"s and 7"s
Next would be all original works produced by Donovan Germain from the late 1970s/early 1980s.
And finally, a series of all dubs done by the Fatman Riddim Section.

Michael Prophet's Serious Reasoning. Sure it aint the original but there's a good way to pick up most of that lp/songs, check for the lp called Consciousness. I think the only song that is missing from the Serious Reasoning set is Fight It To The Top, a song that didn't do much for me in the first place. Consciousness lp has nuff bass in it too!

I'm with Bellyman, re-release all the old Donovan Germain productions. Especially Lee Van Cleef's Reggae Sunsplash and Cultural Roots Dub LP's.

" Fight It To The Top, a song that didn't do much for me in the first place. "
This cover of The Heptones is not amongst my favorite neither but it is the tune that revealed M. Prophet - his first hit.
