Ijahman's productions at the time were still very rich and complex musically. Top musicians and loads of elaborate arrangements. Outstanding musicianship. The best of the best from the jamaican reggae players and even some of the top US Jazz/Fusion/Funk/Latin session musicians play on one track too: Eric Gale, Lou Mancini, Michael Brecker,Barry Rogers, Rick Marotta, Gary King etc....apparently the came to Channel One to record?

I wonder how rare the »Closer To You« disco really is? Found a second copy of it here in Stockholm for £7. I feel that a disco record that turns up twice in a Swedish city has to be very common? Never seen it on eBay though.
Anyone that has a clue?

hi kalcidis. i got my copy on ebay a few years ago. wasnt much more than 10 euro if i remember rightly. top 12". both sides are class. and i'm sure i've seen it again 2 or 3 times here and there on different sites.

Yeah, I'm starting to think it might be quite common. Lovely disco indeed. I just love how the dub shows what a militant song it really is.

anyone off this forum buy it? i see 'moulding' is up on the bay this week. on 12". a little more than 6 quid i'm afraid. a bit out of my league.
