lol, that reminds me of something that happened to my old man.
When I was a kid our flat got broken in to and his DX7 and a tape deck were stolen, he was most angry about loosing his synth, but also because the tape in the machine had all his latest recordings on, about a month later we heard one of his tracks being used on an advert for the local cab office

. . . . I remember being quite impressed that he'd actually gotten some airplay lol. . .

In about 1995 I was browsing in a second hand record shop in winchester. I saw Beware, and immediately bought it. Got home played it, and low and behold the record skipped in exactly the same place as it before.
It probably is, but it didnt nesccesarily have to be the same copy though. As a shopkeeper, I remember when i got in like 25 copies of a set Studio One record, all of them skipping at the same time, because they used a dammaged stamper. and this kind of thing happend quite a lot!
same like i've never seen or heard a copy of the reissue of Big youth-Chi Chi Run lp that didn't skip in the last 2 songs on side 1, due to the bad stamper

What about an off center stamper on one side of the record Woooow, Woooow ,Wooooo... on side B (side A sounding nice though)
The nicest experience I had was with a misprint of the sleeve of Top Ranking Dub. Those guys reversed the sleeve and printed it again. The misprinted outside of the cover is now on the inside. Too bad you can still see the initial glue lines on the front now.

I bought a copy Vivian Jackson - Love of Jah on Prophet off e-bay years ago for a very reasonable price, but it turned out to be Conquering Lion instead... it was graded as VG, but played mint... very nice surprise!

Well Kalcidis and Mr Mountain....
I had a similar experience as you.
I bought this:
[cover=723,843]
But no Johnny Clarke or Barry Brown on it,
instead some house-techno stuff!

Not a reggae story, but I heard a track on Pete Tong's programme one Friday night that I really liked and went into my local record shop the next day and said do you have this record "A Profound Gas" by the Sandals? The assistant said yes, but it's been played a few times, she took that very record off the turntable in the shop, put it back in its sleeve, passed it over to me, I said how much is it, she said you can just have it!

While playing "Love & Livity" by the Jewells, I suddenly heard a huge CRRRRAAAKKKKKK, I jumped in the room to check the turntable and my young cat had his claw deep in the wax, big opened eyes very frightened by the strange noise it made... but fascinated by the move of the record...
I shout so loud that it never happend again... But the record has now a light click throughout...
