I've had "Water Pumping" since it was first released and I've rarely played it. People keep telling me it isn't a poor album so I go home and give it another spin. Sadly, every time I dig it out (and I did so recently) I come to the same conclusion; it's a very poor album.
Each to his own, of course.
Simon, you have had "Water Pumping" since its release and therefore is an original issue in good nick, why not sell it, wouldnt that make more sense than to hang onto something you don`t like. You`ll make more than enough to buy the boxset with cash to spare
I played it last night and stick with my original statement that there are 4 good tracks.
So when you think that the boxset of 4 CD`s will probably set you back around a tenner, then £2.50 for "Water Pumping" set is a bloody good price.

LOL. Good idea Dave, but I am waiting for that epiphany moment when I realise it's a brilliant album!

Seriously though I have a massive aversion to selling any vinyl nowadays.

If you don't know the 4th (Nightfall) you'd better!
This one introduced me to the joys of the Roots Radics and the whole early 80s dancehall style.

Just pre-ordered the boxset so I will soon.

I actually like Water Pumping.. not as strong as the other 3 albums.. but tracks like Angel in My arms, Love You Tonight, Na Look Nobody & Purify Your Heart I would consider good tunes! pretty heavy riddims..
Fally Lover & Never Stop Fighting are among the greatest LPs in Reggae history for me!.. although they both have tunes that I can't stand to listen to... the good tunes never ever get boring! Radics in ultrafine style & Osbourne very rarely disappoints when a riddim is good..

Got my copy yesterday, played it in work today.
Pretty good sound quality and nice to see that "Folly Lover" has been cleaned up and no longer has the poor quality sound on the first 4 tracks that was present on the "Twoofer".
My only grumble with these Reggae Legends sets is why could Greensleeves add the original back cover artwork, but I guess i`m just being picky especially as they only cost £13.00

I've only listened to 'Nightfall' so far.
Anyone know who the deejays featured on this album are? I thought that one of them might've been I-Roy but I'm not 100% sure...

I believe it is Ringo on both tracks.
