Black Uhuru - Eden Out Deh - Greensleeves 12"

Black Uhuru’s ‘Eden Out Deh’ returns here in its early 80s 12” form, pulling the track away from its place on Black Sounds Of Freedom and into the dubplate economy it was built for. The original carried that roots-era moral urgency - the domino-effect of altruism, "one good thing leads to another", scorn for the maladjusted, "look how the heathen gwaan... upon street today" - but this version retools the foundation with a heavier, rub-a-dub drum track, shifting the balance toward system use. The presence of King Jammy (credited here under his earlier Prince Jammy moniker) is felt loud and clear in the extended dub treatment.
