yes, it does have that kind of sound and atmosphere. A lot of Flesh of My Skin was recorded in the UK where that electric piano was also used. It was a common sound back then. And Keith Hudson was the other majorly inventive producer who took time over his music; he could get a studio kinda cloudy vibe anywhere... I think not ark but every bit as mystical and excellent. in fact probably more complex than the basic Ark could have achieved in 1974... but who know?

Yeah, its not on the 'Slaving' riddim... for some odd reason Ron listed it as bogus. Maybe that one is different since it has "Fireball Yow" on the backside and I got straight up instrument-wise version.

Right. I am not at home at the moment so I cant check but if you say it is not the Slaving one then it is definitely a Perry rhythm. My one I know has Fireball Yow on the other side, maybe the same label got used more than once, but that is the version side. Definitely Perry or at least the rhythm was from the Ark. I got a feeling there are two on the rhythm but I cant confirm that until I get home.

Makes me smile that the Delano Tucker Gather Israelites LP is quite checked-for by the roots fraternity, yet he is wearing a UB40 shirt ont he sleeve. Not that I hate UB, they always gave full credit and royalties for the stuff they did for which big respect. But it aint exactly tuff roots...

If you google the title of the LP you get some quite odd stuf written about it come up...

Well, there is two different vocal takes one on the LP and another on the 7" inch... I prefer the LP vocal take take.

I think I can remember the other tune on the same rhythm. It is I'll Be Around and it is also on JA Mango 7". The LP is a strange thing, several cuts of the same rididm (Little Roy/Morwells if I remember) and vocally the guy is no Ken Boothe. But it has a particular vibe and he is a trying man, for which maximum props. I haven't compared the two takes you said about. Mebbe I should.

these two tunes sound like early Black Ark Perry productions especially the version on knotty vision? is this correct?

In david katz'book People Funny Boy he describes how Tubby was asked to make a track in Upsetter style.One of these is on the flip to Born Free by Michael Rose,the 12"version on Attack Records, and is by one Dad Brown. Forget the name of the song but listening to it it does sound like Black Ark sound..wonder if Tubby did any more?
