I didn't enjoy that LP. Not good Hudson stuff. Maybe if you heard it first - as in before stuff like Brand or Entering the Dragon - you might like it. But hold it up to those really excellent earlier works Hudson works from the 70s and it isn't really very special at all. IMHO that is!

Hey Leggo

Each to his own, D.O.O.P has pretty ggod taste imo

Still I am currently listening to The
Revolutionaries "Sentimental Dub" album.

Superb companion to the Joy white vocal album.

Dave

PS Leggo, talking of Keith Hudson, bet you would like his "Rebel dub" album. If you can find it :D

Yes, DOOP has great taste. Most of what he lists is simply awesome material.

Rebel Dub by Hudson? Bloody hell, I've just spent ten agonising minutes looking at the King of Dub's pages looking at all the super rare dub LPs I've never even seen for sale, let alone bought. And now you're telling me of another one!

:(

I think it's time for me to step in:)

Dave,
Thanks for defending:)

Leggo,
I wasn't saying that Steaming Jungle is Hudson's best work, I just said is that Jungle is underrated, probably because of being released in 1982, during the dancehall era. Jungle was kind of oldfashioned album. All in all, not his best effort, but some songs are top-notch. I just simply enjoy it.

Greetings!!!

Hi Leggo,

I know how you feel, luckily enough I have broken the back of a substantial number of those listed on the Dub LP Website.

Even so, I am always finding something new that I want to have to hand and listen.

My latest acquistions which I am currently playing are

Orthodox Dub - Clive Hunt
Hug a Dub - Jummy Radway
Strictly Dub - Prince Jammy
Sentimental Reasons in Dub - Revolutionaries
Mawamba Dub Chapter Two - World Sound & Power.

"Righteous Medication To Heal The Nation"

DOOP don't need no defendin' because I wasn't attacking him!

I just said that I hadn't been able to get into Steaming Jungle.

But then that's the problem with artists who produce really stunning stuff early on, they then have to constantly equal or even better that - and it ain't easy.

There are so many artists with great debuts followed by lots of mediocre stuff.

@ Rootsman

Sometimes I manage to kid myself that I have broken the back of the King Of Dub collection, just as you say you have.

I have a substantial part of that collection here also and a few look in better condition than his.

But then when I look closer I realise that the ones that are missing are SUPER-RARE and I am about as likely to get them as I am to get a night with Madonna.

And it's those real toughies that vex me!
