There are way more than five, I'm sure, but it's late and I recently re-listened to what I've long called my favorite reggae song (and I really rarely ever have favorites)"

Leroy Stewart - Step Forward

(on the 'Step Forward Youth' Jazzbo track, but a million times more sublime)

This songs knocks me on my ass every time. Who was this guy? What happened to him? Did he ever record anything else?

Honestly, if you don't know this tune, don't sleep until you get it.

BTW, I don't know if this was ever released as a single. If you want to hear it, it came out on a RAS comp called All That Jazzbo in 1989. The rest of the album is a bit weak, early digital stuff. The last track is the Leroy Stewart, which is truly tops. The price of the album is worth it just for this one song.

And it's not early digital like the rest of the lp, it's straight mid to late seventies killer!

I'll shut up about it now. (but, really, find it and listen;) )
