Thanks

And Bunny Scott being Bunny Rugs (who went on to become lead singer Third World), the whole picture is getting more accurate in my brain!

Till now most people listen to the drum and decide if has the black ark sound it is a Perry production. But e.g. the Bolivar production from 1972 has got that drum but cannot be Black Ark. This 'man a scanker' hasnt got the drum but the keyboard with the right sound and 1974 is a operation black ark year. So tell me? I recalll to have read on the internet in which they say he(bolivar) had his own studio. Which studio is that???
I stand corrected, SRS studio existed and was a two track homestudio. Those productions have nothing to do with the Ark.

@jahsteppa....to share info on your question, i can't recall where i read it, but supposedly the Meditations recorded 'Life Is Not Easy' elsewhere (Channel One?) and took it to Scratch to get help selling it to Island, i think. Scratch took it and added the cow sound in the discomix transition, and sold it to Island as a 12". I have the Island 12" with the cow sound, and i have the Scandel 7" which doesn't have the cow sound, and i agree doesn't have an Ark feel to it at all. a top tune still!

is the mix on the "running from jamaica" 7" different than the 12"?
I have both versions, and the mixes are quite different, especially the dub parts.

Now, I have an mp3 of a totally unidentified song, it might be called "Uncle Tom", with the typical 1978 Perry sound, but no information about the singers (they're be a duo).
Anyone knows ?

N.
Almost five years ago, we had this little discussion about what the title could be to that Black Ark track some of us had a copy of.
Of course now we know it's called *Righteous Land* by Aleas Jube.

A few years ago, I played the track to my girlfriend and when I asked her what they were singing, she said it was from a song or nursery rhyme back in her days: "Scornful dogs, nyam dutty pudding".
It's more or less a Jamaican proverb with more than one meaning it seems.

That's sorted then, No *Uncle Tom* nor *Come For Jah*.
