I once read an interview with Don Carlos where he says;

*»The one [of our records] we would like the best is the one that turns us the most money«*

I think it says quite a lot.

I meant that money is not the main incentive for musicians to make music. Do you really think that music will die because of record companies pulling down the curtains? really? I mean REALLY?

Do we all work in what we like? NO
Musicians? Yes, they do. Of course they deserve to be paid, but ask them if creativity comes from money.
Come on !

Incentive to create new music will never die, period.

Remember how this music thing was born, right? A guy knocking two pieces of stone.

Ok, what about blogs that have out of print 7" singles for free download? The vinyl is used, the artist may be deceased, the label waaaay long ago disbandoned and there is no reissue of it available? There are plenty of these sites out there and they offer up some great tunes, some of us have never heard. I don't see a problem with this. The problem is with new releases of new artists/labels and popular back stock releases that are still readily available anywhere.
