With these variant releases it may be tricky to know what to buy on the net, you may not be sure of what you get in the end.
Same problem with Bunny Wailer's Rock And Groove LP, generally it is the (bad) JA press, but even if it's the UK one, the sellers will say it's a Jamaican one... One can't be sure...
Even with the various Heart Of The Congos, unless the matrix LP 4049 is specified, You'll end up with a second mix of the album, even if the graphics look like the first press.

I suppose Living Dub albums cut before 1990 must have the original mix, while later cuts have the remixed version.
So MML-289-A/MML-290-B has the alternate dub mix ? That's just two years before it got released by Heartbeat, in 1993...

I went to a local record store yesterday that has the album (at £27 ... yikes!) and checked the label and matrix. Year on the label says (P) & (C) 1982. The matrix was:

GG TAPE MASTER LTD - TG - 5184 - A SPIDERMAN LIVING DUB VOL. 1
GG TAPE MASTER LTD - TG - 5184 - B SPIDERMAN LIVING DUB VOL. 1

There was no way to listen to it though so I can't say what mix it might have been.

I started a new thread for this. Should have known this was here.

Anyway. My copy is red and black cover and says Vol 1. And on Burning Spear label. Matrix is Side A: DSR 8605 A DT
Side B: DSR 8606 B DT

And this is the original mix.
