I completely agree with you mikeydread. It's a just a matter of time before I sell this album back. Very disappointing.

Hi Dave

Re: 'What's the Sly and Robbie Taxi Sound like ?'

I don't have it yet. I ordered it on the back of comments made by well charge.

Pretty sure it's all post digital.

If I don't like it I'll send you it FOC.

SLY DUNBAR did destroy some tunes with his synth drums i think he was trying to give reggea a new sound am not saying a disco sound but more of a sound effects ecoh chamber one track he did on the TAXI LP WITH JIMMY RILEY call MY WOMANS LOVE sound proper with his synth drums SLY also used this drum sound on BLACK UHURU RED ALBUM this time he just about got away with it the man is still a great drummer.

Hi 6andette.

Thanks for the offer, however, if it is post digital I wouldnt want it myself.

I just can`t get into that digital feel. It just doesn`t sound right.

Respect

Dave

Hi Dave

I know where you are coming from.
I get the feeling I'll hate it! Probably not my most sensible purchase, but I do want to hear it.

6anbatte, the cd you ordered contains mostly pre-digital stuff, so syndrums: yes, but with real bass and other instruments. I have an advice: play the cd loud, on a good stereo; I bet you can't sit still for longer than 5 seconds. There's another cd on Pressure Sounds, called 'Unmetered Taxi' I think, which is also a real good compilation of this period of Sly & Robbie, but I believe there is some overlap with the cd you ordered.
I don' think you're gonna regret your purchase. Play it loud, keep it rocking, play it again... you'll like it.
