Glad you liked it, the band is actually called Sceptre, "Essence Of Redemption Ina Dif'rent Styley" is the rather long album title, I suspect you may have bought it from Ernie B as he managed to list it as you have.

We've got lots more Midlands Reggae releases coming in the new year.

Yeah. That release was definitely a killer. Missed a lot of albums on my list. Sceptre being one of the really crucial ones.

Agree with the above, especially BMC who hot the nail on the head with the Breadwinners 12" that was released in March 2014. Brilliant analogue sound from Al Breadwinner and his Bakery Studio.

New 2014:

1) As Far As I Can See/Mr Landlord - The Breadwinners with City Culture/Stally/Stevie (Horus 12")
2) Inna London Dub (Tuff Scout LP)
3) Little Roy - Disasters & Signs (Tuff Scout 7")

Revive 2014:

1) Jah Life in Dub - Scientist (DKR/Jah Life)
2) The Dub Album They Didn't Want You To Hear - Scientist (DKR/Jah Life)
3) Play On Mr Music - Upsetter Revue (DubStore 10")
4) Five Man Army - Trinity/Dillinger/Wayne Wade/Al Campbell/Junior Tamlin (King Spinna 12")
5) Winston Jarrett - Wise Man 10" (Pressure Sounds)

First up is "Black Symbol", a double LP and single CD compilation of music from Handsworth's Black Symbol, a mixture of their singles, album tracks and unreleased tracks. That will be followed by "The Midlands Roots Explosion Volume One" which is a superb compilation of serious Roots tunes from the late seventies, early eighties and also includes a couple of unreleased gems, if that goes well Volume Two won't be far behind. We should also get the CD release of "Handsworth Explosion 1 And 2" out plus the new Capital Letters album, there are other Midlands things in the pipeline, but they aren't confirmed yet.

Bristol Archive Records has a reissue of Retsriction's "Action" 12" for Record Store Day and the Restriction album might arrive this year as well, there's also a film about Talisman sometime this year.
