I recently picked up the new trojan rockers box set. On the sleeve notes rockers and steppas are defined as synonyms
- curious that trojan don't see any difference between the two

to me rockers is four to the four bass pedal, but with some serious off beat snare licks ..steppers is just four to the floor bass pedal single snare shot..ill try and find some examples..yaba

always thought steppaz was some electronic technoid type of dub like on dubhead cds, very awful arrangements with tiny cheap instruments.
rockers instead is a live music which is very nice to listen to.

JAH SHAKA IS a blueprint for both analog and digital Steppers... Twinkle Brothers do both as well... The Rockers and Steppers era in JA HAS been dead for almost 30 years... Steppers is warrior charge Muzik with great artists like Reuben Addis, Ironworks Dread, Black Redemption, Available Shanti, Ras Muffet, Brizion, BlackHeart Warriors, etc... Keepers of the flame of authentic roots Muzik in this Iwa....
