I believe Jacob Millar died while en route to pick up Bob Marleys dinner of fresh fish.

Mr. Miller or Mr. Marley? Impossible to choose! Two good artist and performers, that died to damn early!

Hi, new here, just bumped into the site yesterday.

I've always been partial to roots & dub to the pop gloss, yet the Marley live sound moved beyond that gloss, saw him San Diego '76 and Maui '79. In terms of comparing Miller and Marley, I have to admit seeing Inner Circle in Hollywood '77 or '78? was one of the strangest reggae experiences. Only about 10 of us there when Jacob and band began. Slowly people began filtering in decked out in high fashions and gawking at Jacob in fatigues jumping around grabbing his crotch surrounded with this 'heavyweight' backup band. Most of them were clearly were not into 'it', mumbling and drifting off. When Inner Circle set ended, suddenly the place filled up, seems everyone came to see some heavy funk band. We went outside almost immediately, strolled around as Inner Circle was going to do a 2nd set. When the funk band ended the place deserted again, 2nd set had more people than 1st but was evident that most of the people had no 'feel' for reggae.:(

i think that if bob wasn't so famous all of you would think that he was the real king of reggae,if marley wouldn't exist no one of you would hear this music, and he wasn't a babylonian so respect him.jacob is great and all the others but he was different he was maradona of reggae, the problem is that he is very famous and everyone can hear him everyone that don't know nothing about this culture, but i'm sure that most of you live in a babylon way, take out your masks!

Bob became who he was due to the death of Jacob Miller.

Both were different in their styles and itb is evident.

I agree with Ites. I haven't heard much I like from Miller. He actually seems like a bandwagon jumper to me. On a lyrical level he's certainly no match to Marley.

Marley became what he was due to Jacob Miller?? You gotta be kidding, seriously!

For many at that time, Jacob was a folly bwoy, turning rasta into a joke, an image, a cheap way to sell his music. Lyrics full of cliches, which he is not alone with, even Marley could be blamed for that

I think Miller had a good stage presence, entertainer in every sense of the word, but i definitely don't rate him as an artist, too much folly business
