From 1966 to 1968 for most of them. Some call those 2 years "golden age of Jamaican music" and i agree with them although ska and roots era gave us plenty of serious tunes.

A excellent compilation that i only have on mp3 and not really well encoded (i'm looking for info about this one, found nothing on the net) is "Exclusive Rock Steady vol.1" with a rocksteady version of Burial by Tosh and other pure rocksteady stuffs.

How about;

Slaving (Every Day) - Lloyd Parks
Black Man Time - I Roy
Slaving Version - Lloyd Parks
Honesty - Big Youth
No More Slavery - Glen Brown

15 mins 42 secs!

That has everything in it!

Who La La - Glen Brown (not excellent but i like this one 'cause i'm french and the lyrics sounds quite funny to me)

Actually, the "exclusive rock steady" comp' i was talking about in the previous post does not exist, it seems to be a home made comp' and there's 8 volumes, i get them and i come back for more sweet rocksteady.

@6anbatte
Excellent but i think it's not rocksteady, it's reggae and deejays cutting over reggae tunes
