'fraid it has. Gone that is.
You can stop speculating, really, it's true.
According to what I've been told the label will be wound down immediately and all things associated - the website, the discussion board, merchandise, stock, everything. I think it's a crying shame and would like to express my deepest admiration for Steve Barrow and his colleagues at BAF for providing some stellar re-introductions to some roots classics. So long you guys and hopefully we'll see you spring back in another disguise! There is still so much to do!
I know this to be true, the source is unimpeachable but I can't say more - it just wouldn't be right. We'll all be told eventually I guess... but damn damn damn. It really sucks.
Maybe someone out there knows how to take over the discussion board? Time to start thinking about it I reckon.

If that's true, well see hundreds of knowledgable new participants in the next few days...

Natty Dread Magazine (serious french roots mag) wrote on their forum that they contacted Steve Barrow who confirmed that B&F was actually totally out of activity. Some people would be in contact to recuperate the label and website, but the actual situation is stil critical.

I hope they have the good sense to keep the forum archives up, or at the very least to release the forum archives to the public, as they contain a wealth of information that isn't likely to be duplicated elsewhere.
And yes, let's all rush to a conclusion and blame the downloaders blindly. Scapegoating is sure to get us far.....
