I would try to hit a little of everything, but heavy on the Black Ark stuff, such as:
1. Chicken Scratch
2. The Upsetter
3. What a good woodman
4. Woman's dub
5. Curly locks (Junior Byles)
6. Bird in hand
7. Why must I version (Heptones-Arkology)
8. Dreadlocks in moonlight-extended
9. Cheating (Earl Sixteen)
10. Voodooism (Leo Graham)
11. Conscious man (Jolly Brothers)
12. Strange wisperings (West Indians)
13. Secret Laboratory
I could go on and on...
Alright, an hour to sum up Scratch is ridiculous, but if you get hit a couple early ska tunes, some early dub, a couple pop reggae hits, some deep roots from the Ark, some mind-blowing dub from the Ark, and at least one tune from after the Ark, you can say that you did your best to capture the essence of the one and only Scrtach.

Wow!
Thanks for the responses (and keep them coming!)
Lots of good suggestions that I had neglected, including many I haven't heard yet (which I will now have to seek out). Great stuff!
I wish I had 8 hours!
Just a clarification on *the rule* I mentioned earlier:
(LONG VERSION) Basically, we get money from the Texas state legislature and there is a stipulation that we play "non-commercial" music. The rule is self-enforced by our music directors who define "commercial" as *any artist/group that has gone Gold (or better), been on the cover of major music magazines (Rolling Stone, Spin, etc.), or have had more than one top 40 single*. There are some obvious gray areas here (e.g. does Bunny Wailer's solo stuff count as commercial since he was part of the original Wailers?) but if it's gray, I usually play it, because if I don't, who (in Texas) will?
(SHORT VERSION) For the most part- if it's not Bob Marley, I can play it. Peter Tosh is iffy but I can get away with it sometimes.
As far as "the three songs by the same artist in a row", our station has a long running "artist hour" where a DJ spotlights *one band* for the entire hour every Saturday so I don't know why they picked on you Leggo Rocker. Or maybe they just haven't picked on us yet... If that's the case, let's hope they lay off us until I do this show.
Thanks again for the suggestions and ideas.
Rock it in the backyard,
Selector J

I think the three artists in a row rule is for the Internet. Is your station going out on FM?
