if you're looking for studio one dubs, sorry for you guys but the best ones are 7inch b sides... or on some 12inch extended versions... they seem to know it at soul jazz cos they put some songs that you'll never find anywhere else...by example silvertones - cheating&lying (12inch version) on studio one groups... the dub part is a real thrill with that bass
I would say the dub specialist albums are more for studio one fanatics (like me!) and I wouldn't suggest those to studio one beginners.
about sugar minott... the uptempo showcase contains some of his best performances over studio one riddims (even if roots archives doesn't mention anywhere that these are actually studio one riddims)... and each of them on extended versions...
if you're a studio one beginner the souljazz compilations offer quality release...
studio one scorcher vol 1 and studio one rockers are great starters...
grab also studio one dj's vol 2.
heartbeat catalog have some good stuff too : the recent "version dread" (strictly vinyl! because you got the ernest ranglin surfin extended version as bonus track), and "downbeat the ruler" (2006 edition)with the greatest innstrumental bits from studio one.
if you're looking for real studio one release, go for lone ranger "badda dan dem", "tuffest" compilation, ...
if you want more, just collect 7, 10 & 12 inch...
