Jason

It took me a while to discover Anthony Johnson, until sometime last year I think. Now I am trying to get anything of his I can find.

Thanks for the tip on the Silver Camel CD. I checked the playlist on it and I have most of the 12 inch version son it already as I've been on a mission to gather the Jah Thomas Silver Camel and Midnight Rock 12s :D

Like you, I haven't really taken to much of the later Barrington output, although there is one very nice 12 inch by him with a lovely rendition of Vica versa Love on it (c/w Under Mi Sensi). It is well worth seeking out some of his stuff on 12 inch as there are many killas by him on foot long 45s.

@ Easy- Anthony Johnson's Reggae Feelings LP is actually my favorite of his. It doesn't have the popularity of Gunshot, but track for track I like it better. I know you can check it on amazon's MP3 download listings if you'd like to hear a piece of each track.

@ Leggo- I had a feeling you'd like those tracks from reading your posts. Glad you have been able to get the..

I know everyone on this forum hates the generic CDs that have been released over the past 15 or so years but, does anyone know where the tracks on the "Togetherness" CD from Mr. Johnson came from? Were they originally 45s or was this material recorded later. I bought this CD about 12 years ago and became a fan. Certainly no where near the standards of "Gunshot" or "Reggae Feelings" but I find it enjoyable to listen to and always wondered where the material came from.

I presume you've been listening to some Barrington Levy and Triston Palmer? And almost anything on the Midnight Rock label should rock you!

I have the following Anthony Johnson albums:

Gun Shot
I'm Ready
Reggae Feeling
Early Days
Reggae Feelings
We Want More Lovin'

In my opinion the I'm Ready (showcase style) album is his best album (rare and hard to find!)Smashing Roots Radics rhythms and one of Syle Scotts best albums ever!
