The vibes of hip hop (rap) have changed and its got into to being a richmans toy to be played in posh hotel lifts and business company parties.
The whole thing about it was they had no money and just used two turntables and a mike and the break dancing and graff art and block parties evolved from that scene.
When the drum machine came in 1983 it changed the whole complexion of it being their tool with beats being made with the mixing and scratching and all these new sounds being created.
Today its way to over produced and made on equipment that softerns the hip hop sound.
Real time real life not 4 bar loops.
peace
