Growing outdoors is best. It's natural, Ital.
But for those who live too far North, or even too far south, it isn't usually an option. The herb rarely finishes flowering before the frosts come and kill them dead.
The next problem is that the plants get seen, and either stolen or busted by the law.
That's why indoor growing is now the norm in the UK.

the sun is really far away, i heard. Though if it gets closer it wont leave us so healthy, just a bit melted and dead.

I hardly think that plants grown indoors are any of the above...i mean come one...harmfull? and Lab Monsters? Plants grown indoors not only can be more potent but also look much prettier...buds grown outside tend to be much darker, less glands and, well they are just weathered...i am strickly commenting on their looks and not their quality...outdoor plants can possess amazing quality.
But...I would also like to say that i am NOT against growing outdoors, and can totally dig on the whole nature/natural vibe, and i am NOT saying that you shouldn't grow outdoors, but i just think that you are being a little too critical of indoor growing. Especially since most people who grow, dont have the privlage or opportunity of growing outside.

Dutch Passion feminised seeds - super strains and no males - not cheap though.
Hydroponic growing techniques
An enclosed but well ventilated growing room with quality lights and reflective walls.
A good flower booster such as Canna PK13/14.
These I recommend for great results. Alas paranoia about spotter planes and multiple grower busts in the UK mean the knowledge I acquired is now dormant.

This New York heat wave has allowed by seedlings to sprout and grow very quickly. Will need to bring this indoors in a few weeks as they will be to tall. Anyone know if metal halide is preffered over sodium light kit?

you can put them under lights at 24 hours on for a while, keep clipping them down to bush them...then cut the light to 12 on/12 off, then you will know the sex of them if you already haven't been given guaranteed female seeds...then get rid of males...you could also go with 18 on and 6 off for sexing...then work it down from there to get it to flower nice and fat.
some places go 24 on to 12/12...
