I dont know about that, i dont think soundmen (like myself + others here) always feel the need to adjust too many frequencies and 2/3way eq is enough.
Youd be running anything digital back through a mixer or preamp and able to adjust such things anyway.

I think you have a bit of a bee in your bonnet about this one, we shouldnt slander others for listening digital if thats all they can afford/prefer.

They keep going on about digital is cheaper its not its a lot more expensive or perhaps them a pirate bootlegger that gets it all for nothing. nothing is not cheaper its nothing.

Getting back to the original question; whenever I get a chance (and it is pretty time consuming. 2 hours from start to finish on average) I do digitise my vinyl and the results are just short of astonishing. I have never, ever heard CDs with such bottom end. Really not sure why CDs you buy can't/don't sound like these.

And I literally do just "record" the vinyl, without adding anything or playing with EQ. The only thing I do use is the click removal option at it's lowest setting.

Incidentally, I record straight from my hi-fi (Rega Planar 3, Cyrus 8) to the line-in socket of my laptop using the pro-version of Wave Corrector software.

It sounds good cos you put the play back through a digital system, play it back trough a analogue system and you will hear the terrible quality.

Amusingly a friend of mine who is a sound engineer at Abbey Road (and also has perfect pitch) heard one of these discs and, assuming it was vinyl being played, said "You can't beat the sound of vinyl".

Incidentally, being born in the 1950s my format of choice is vinyl, however I can assure you CDs can sound fantastic.

I can assure you that 6anbatte`s CD-R`s sound absolutely awesome through an analogue system.Completely correct about the perceived deep bass ,nice and rounded,almost valve-like.I have a choice of valve pre-amp or passive,no PC digital driven system for me !!

I have not said anything about cds yet just the mp3s and pcs.
There is a lot more scope on the cds and wider frequency range than mp3s and pcs.
And to keep it as analogue as possible when putting it on to cd which is not totally digital.cds are analogue and digital and has not got the coding of a digital mp3.
There are a few types of digital signals you can have a anlogue signal on a digital format cd but its still analogue until you invole the computer more than being a input signal straight in analogue to cd.I agree the closest to vinyl is doing that way. it when you start messing around with the sound once its on your pc that mucks it up.

The even more closer to vinyl is missing out the computer completly and put the turntable through your analogue amps and eqs and straight into the recordable cd player.
If you have a good cd recorder it has a digital and analogue setting same as minidisc and DATS.

Yes vinyl has a wider frequency range than MP3, but humans can only hear up to about 22 kHz, and the ultra-high frequencies on vinyl are at such low levels that the difference is not noticeable.
