Sounds like he's saying that the album cover artwork he sent to the moderator was never uploaded to the RA site.

robe619; This has to do with the people behind R-A trying to have a full audio DB for every entry to R-A. I think they wanted to add audio snippets to each song and so on.
This is both good and bad. I'd minimizes the chance of a bogus record getting in to the DB but also it excludes many records since the owner might not be able (or doesn't want?) to rip their music and send it on.
I've got a couple of LP's I've sent artwork for that haven't been included just because I can't do any rips. So I have to wait for the music to turn up in the mp3-trading circles first.

KALCIDIS: If this is true , then why is there an LP listed in the RA by Black Symbol, when it has never been confirmed to actually exist. Even on the RA forum it has been discussed that most likely somebody compiled songs from twelve inches (that do exist), and called it an album - even though they only own a burnt copy of it on CD. Very misleading, because there has never been proof provided, nor cover artwork that this is really an LP, yet the RA saw it fit enough to list it as one. So I as the RA Moderators, is this really the protocol for accepting cover artwork? Is there any protocol you follow to confirm these albums exist, before listing them on the RA (even without artwork)?

I'm not one of the people behind R-A and can't really answer for them. I suspect the Black Symbol album is included mainly by a mistake.
But I know that when I've sent new artwork previously without any audio it hasn't been added due to them having it as a principle not to add music they can't hear.
I think this is mostly good because as it is we only have one album (Black Symbol) where we talk about if it does exist or not instead of perhaps 100 bogus albums of people being creative and just sending in!

Wrong. He wanted a copy of the album for his collection. This was when the moderators stated there were to be no discussing of trading mp3s on the forum.
And if there are photos/scans of label and cover art how can it be deemed bogus? I also sent "large artwork" for the "missing large artwork" section that was never uploaded either.

This really isn't my discussion so I'll leave it be. But when it comes to your second question: it's very easy. Anyone with photoshop and some talent can make bogus cover art that look like real scans.

Like you say, there were to be no discussing of trading mp3's on the forum, that's probably why your discussion with the moderator (i wonder if in fact it was a moderator) took place by email.
FYI: The moderators on this forum are here to moderate the forum only. None of them is actually busy maintaining the database when it comes to adding new albums.
'The people behind RA' .... well, that's only two guys with regular daily jobs and a passion to keep this website running.
So guys, don't take it too serious. Really, this whole dbase isn't like a bible!
