i think its pretty big of leggo rocker to tell the marley family how to spend the money. its their money their business.
bob was also driven by money. theres a story about him roughing up lee perry because he give john holt a better deal than bob.

Im with Leggo on this one, but since long I dont have any hope in the way they treat Bob's material and I have no respect for the way they are turning Bob's work into derision and empying it from its substance.
Yes nobody is perfect, and yes Bob had a sense of business but NO its not the same to make everything to get dunza than being an artist and get dunza for your work. Nobody is perfect but everybody can understand that this whole babylon shit will not bring us happy so everybody can do a little, not for profit but in the way they feel righteous.
Hiding yourself behind the "everybody do it" will change nothing because its your own soul youre dealing with. I judge nobody but I cant hear the people who claim that morality and principles are nonsense cause nobody applies them fully; you dont need to save the world and be a prophet to apply a bit your own beliefs. Do your little, you dont need to be a "true pure rasta", do your little around you with your heart and see that you'll find yourself in that.
They are for nothing in Bob's career and message but they feel like they are allowed to corrupt it and turn it into a "morality for sale", keeping the dunza for their own confort.
I dont care too much, but the image around Marley and reggae suffers from that, its turning it into a cheap "cool", smoky and "hippy" philosophy which has absolutely no link with. I hope future generations will be able to see rightfully through that smog.Gudiance

Thx, Litelet for this great contribution. You exactly hit the point. A lot of truthfulness and clarity coming through.

i totally agree with what you guys are saying. they should indeed treat bobs legacy with a little more consciousness and thought but i just think its a little unfair to judge his family on their decisions. wether right or wrong god forgives us all. whatever happens with his merchandise i believe that every person who listens to his his music hears his truth and only the fickle will be swayed by advertising. its a pleasure we can have this discussion and a testament to how much this great man means to us all

I just saw the Marley coffee in the store today. The varieties are One Love, Lively Up, Mystic Morning, and Buffalo Soldier.

As been said before, it would be nice to see the Marley estate give back to the older, needy musicians that have medical issues etc. let alone help the Jamaican people that clearly need help and support. Maybe the estate is doing such, just behind closed doors... Further, if one hapened to need new headphones, and you had to choose one set, what would be wrong with the Marley ones, if your going to buy one anyway? Or the ipod dock thingy? I bought Dr. Dre Beats and feel kinda weird about giving him still more money, even though they are quite nice...
