yes, thanks everyone. Jah Chicken you pointed THE most impressive reggae song rooted in Christic reference and faith, this Silvertones tune is absolutly wonderful, and here you can feel so deeply and directly the One feeling that gets Rastafari culture/music so close to Christ's spirit and words.
Right also about Yabby You/Jesus Dread.
Diverse dubs refer to Christ in their title (in Zion Initiation for instance, some Scientist maybe too) but it is less meaninglful for me. I'd rather gather the tunes that contain lyrics and convey a verbal message.
Above those allusions to Christ which artists really carry a Christic vision in your opinion ? For Yabby You as it was said, it was clear and even public (creating some tuff discussions with his rasta mates), but what about the other artists ? I mean, some singers have allusions but not necessarily a Christic approach of their faith. For example, the Congos, indeed, they sing about the 30 pieces of silver's story, but in other songs they sing "invasion, invasion, christianity". Without necessarily entering in the details of such apparent antagonism, which artist appears to you having the kind of spiritual approach Yabby You has ?
Some of you might have information. On my side, my feelings say that Willy Williams also has a strong Christian influence, and maybe the Silvertones with such a biblical song. Your opinion or info ?
Bless

Yeah Benjamin, Willi Williams has stated in interviews that he worships through Christ but also makes certain to state that the original name is Joshua or Yeshua as Jesus Christ is derived from the Greek interpretation. But obviously the name doesn't matter in the end. I just met Willi briefly in Jamaica last week. He's a very warm and friendly person!

yes Blessup, nice comment. Your info do not surprise me and the point on the name is absolutly right. Nevetheless Willy himself calls for "Jesus Christ's" faith in his songs, so as you said, names are not so important.
Lucky you are to meet such a mysterious and inspired singer. I always feel a thin cloud of smoke is coming out of his mouth along with his words when he sings, he got me stoned simply with his vocal vibe...

Benjamin,
You can respect christ but reject ism and skism -> christianity

chrisianity has nothing to do with ism and skism. Maybe some christian institutions deal with ism and skism but not christianity itself. This probably depends on how you define what christiannity is.
I understand your point but I was not talking about singers that respect Christ but about singers that manifest a certain faith in Christ in their songs, even as rastas. And to be more precise again, I have no problem with this Congo's song, I love it very much, and I don't think it disrespects Christ himself, I was just pointing out that alluding to the 3O pieces of silver story doesn't necessarily indicates a christic inspiration of the song.
Any addition to the list everyone?

Ethiopia had Christianity 100 years before Europeans stole it and corrupted it to use as a tool of opression. Emporer Selassie always encouraged people to walk in the ways of Christ. The story of Christ is a heavy story, seen? If people would at least try to live like He lived, then there'd be alot more niceness in the world. Isms and Skisms indeed in all religions. Remember, religion is man made! Spirituality and Religion are two different things altogether! To me, it's all good as long as it's used for good! Benjamin, I think this subject is very cool. Definitely a subject that makes us re-think alot of the lyrics in some of our favorite Reggae tunes!
