Santa Is The Drummer on this :) cause santa was a member on the roots radics @ 1980

bit is difculd to explane what i mean with santas drum style

and i think style scott came in later 1981

because sly begun to play with peter tosh if i am not mistaken:)

Yeah you're right, now I get it. Santa was in the Radics before Style Scott. I think on Levy's 79 Englishman Album it was still Santa. Then a some point in 1980 Style Scott became the Radics Drummer.

But... if Donstrumental is right a few posts back, then maybe Santa was in the Radics at that time, but maybe it was still Sly drumming on this tune.

@ Appklegold- I just had to go and double check this Album (by ear and not credits) and i stand corrected. Sly and Robbie play on all tracks except Chemistry which is Flabba and Style, there is no Santa anywhere on this album.

@ Gabrath-Englishman Album is Santa and Sly. Look Youthman- Roots Radics With Sly. Mary long Tongue-Roots Radics with Sly.

Depending on whether you guys are musicians or not,the styles between the three drummers are quite obvious and SLYS rolls at the beginning of a track usually stamp his identity before the rest of the band come in.

Peace

Okay, cool that you can recognize this. Thanks for the info. Sly is a genius. So my question is answered: The drummer on "Bali-Hi" is Sly.

Do you agree with me that this track has no hi-hat and Sly plays the snare like a bongo/congas but with drumsticks?

I am new to this forum so please forgive me if this is common knowledge or if it has been shared on this forum in the past.

Scientist has a website called "Dubmusic Productions" and can be found here:

http://www.dubmusic.com

You can create a free account and download ten songs for free.

However, he has a deal if you sign up and subscribe to his site (the cost is $10 per year) you can download his entire back catalog. When I first saw that I thought it was too good to be true. So I took a chance and signed up, afterall it is only $10. At first my account did not work and I was unable to download any songs past the ten free downloads. So I sent them an email stating my situation and someone replied asking if I could contact them using Skype. Since I was at work at the time and was unable to use Skype they sent me their phone number. I called it and it was the one and only Scientist that I was speaking to. He remedied the situation and from that point on I am able to download as much as I want from his site. So go check his site out and see what you think. There are also a few videos that he has uploaded.

Anyhow, I hope I am not sharing something that has already been shared here. If so forgive me and I hope you all have a great day!!

Regards,

joey :)

@Gabranth

Thank you :)

I am so happy to be here.

When I spoke to Scientist on the phone he was asking me how I heard about Dub music and what I thought of his site.

He was very down to earth and very helpful.

I am very happy to have found this forum. I have many many questions and I know this is the perfect place to ask them.
