thought it wasn't too bad for a mashup novelty.... dunno if i would buy it, but it was worth a listen.

a bit of trivia, it's true i swear: Elvis' "It's Now Or Never" was a soundsystem hit in the late 50's in Jamaica.

oh, as an addition to this mixtape, might i suggest Prince Flo and Jah Edward's 1981 session....."Rock Steady With Flo & Eddie" - the duo who were the 60's pop group The Turtles.

not bad at all for white kids, but they are backed by some of the usual suspect session musicians from JA recorded at Tuff Gong, just after Rita Marley bought the old Federal Studios from Ken Khouri. the two turned up at the newly minted Tuff Gong expecting to churn out reggae-lite after recently discovering the music ..... but co producer Errol Brown tossed their ideas into the trash and gave them a crash course on real Jamaican music.

my picks would be "Swing And Dine", "Party Time", and "Moving Away"

ape, there is a Sinead O'Connor album called "Throw Down Your Arms" which is all cover versions of classic reggae tunes. It was recorded in Jamaica with Sly & Robbie and its actually very good. Worth checking out!
