Thank you Flashman for putting it so well. I feel the same way.
Also just because I love reggae doesnt mean I'm rastafaian&.vegetarians Although a lot of reggae artist are ital rasta's doesn't mean all reggae collectors are rasta's and vegetarians or that we should be. Even though its off topic lets all talk about reggae and not protest what is right to eat.. Judge not

O robby selector
You talk of judge not yet you are here for what reason? Is it something to do with reggae? What may that be? You claim that not eating meat is something you dont subscribe to.Do not try silencing those of us who do not eat meat.

robtheselector wrote: If you eat meat or don't eat meat who is it for anyone to say what is right. Lets focus on little bit of plastic instead of political views...Its sad when what we choose to eat becomes political. How about talking about REGGAE-ROOTS-MUSIC!
If you read my posts "sean/biggles" you would see that I never judged or told people what is right to eat..... How about posting some stuff about roots music....

I call "meat" carrion cause that´s all it is. Brings poeples minds to a primitive state.

You are what you eat. Judge yourself what you are and where you belong to.

I posted on this thread because I love REGGAE and it bothers me when people think reggae is rasta or rasta is reggae. I'm all about message and what is right but telling people what to eat or how to live is not for me... Rasta's promote ital living,eating... but doesn't mean you have to become a vegetarian... If you are vegetarian then cool but if you not then who is to say what someone should eat....

Jacob miller was a TRUE rasta man and clearly shows him eating chicken(meat) in the movie "Rockers". Maybe he didn't get "I-Lion Tafari's" message...

"Judge not"

If you can validate in your own head that killing animals doesn't contradict your claim of spirituality then where do you draw the line when man kills other man claiming spirituality such as in sudan or darfur or the Holocausrt even? An animals agenda isn't too far removed from mans. Born, Eat, experience joy as well as pain/fear, reproduce, die. Having a brain enables us to understand this similarity. Animals in some instances can logically be argued that their lack of evil nature should guarantee their respect and right not to be killed for food since we can get as much protein as we need from plants.

You cannot be spiritual and kill, this isn't a hard concept to grasp but for some it evidently is. Perhaps an exception can be made for fish because fish eat other fish. I actually thought this is why rastas deemed eating fish acceptable.

On another note organized religions', (including rasta) near total lack of urgency to acknowledge this spiritual understanding proves that religion is nothing more than a cop out for the ignorant. Veganism is a major ideal of the spiritual man. End of discusion.
